Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest branches of the engineering known as the mother discipline in engineering sciences, and in Iran, significant efforts have been made in order to develop it.
Mechanical engineering combines physics, mathematics and material sciences, to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
The foundation of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Hakim Sabzevari was an important step towards industrial prosperity at the north-east of Iran.
According to the research facilities provided and the emphasis on post-graduate studies, the first group of post-graduate mechanical engineering students were enrolled in the master’s degree in the field of energy conversion in 2008. In 2012, the first group of ph. D students were accepted in the mechanical engineering department. The first group of undergraduate students of mechanical engineering joined the department in 2013.
The department offers two main undergraduate programs:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Aerospace Engineering
Three Master’s programs:
- Energy Conversion Engineering
- Applied Design
- Biomechanics
And two Ph. D programs:
- Energy Conversion Engineering
- Applied Design
